Project: Sommerakademie & Digital Academy
Organisation: Phase BE
Mission
Since 2018, Phase BE has been strengthening young people with difficult educational backgrounds in Germany and supporting them on their path to professional qualifications. The social enterprise focuses on young people with difficult educational backgrounds who are struggling with the school-to-training (apprenticeship) transition, aiming to strengthen their personal development and maturity in the long term.
Phase BE works in several regions in Germany with a network of schools, financial partners, foundations, companies, and local employment agencies (“Agentur für Arbeit”) to develop the best opportunities for young people.
Programs
They offer programs that focus on career guidance and expanding training opportunities to help young people shape their futures. The coming years we support:
- Sommerakademie: A three-week summer camp with one year of follow-up support. This program has proven to be an effective tool for the successful transition from school to work.
- Digital Academy: A 12-week digital program, free of charge for participants, based on an online adventure game. It combines self-study units, digital sessions, and individual coaching via video call. The program includes various modules on career orientation and personal development, and is highly flexible and customizable to meet the needs of participants. It can run in parallel with other vocational preparation measures. The program starts several times a year in collaboration with different schools.
Impact
Phase BE leads to improved integration and strengthens both young individuals and local labor markets. Between 2007 and 2023, 3.100 young people benefited from their holistic support.
